Where ‘Trel at? Well, today, he was on the field.
The Giants’ safety was participating in practice today, having apparently cleared the concussion protocols that kept him sidelined on Wednesday. Rolle hit his head on the turf late in the game against the Cowboys and missed the final two minutes. He had to go through NFL-mandated screenings before getting back on the field.
David Baas also returned to practice. Also practicing were Victor Cruz, Rocky Bernard, Kenny Phillips and Keith Rivers. They may wind up being limited, but they were at least participating in the segment of practice we were able to watch. They were all on the injury report yesterday. Phillips was working on the side towards the end of individual drills, but he was working with safeties coach Dave Merritt and not the trainers so it was hard to tell if he was being caught up on football stuff or being held apart because of his knee.
That left four Giants not practicing, chief among them Ahmad Bradshaw who is working through a foot injury. He is not in a boot, as he has been in recent years when he fought through foot troubles, but he was in sneakers today while the team was cleated up for outdoor practice on the grass.
Also not practicing were Jacquian Williams, Chase Blackburn and Bear Pascoe. Of them, Pascoe was the most active in his inactivity, catching passes from the quarterbacks while they warmed up their arms and helping out with (although not participating in) some drills. Blackburn was able to do some running on the side, but he looked pretty ginger. Williams was still doing some stretching and not running at anything approximating speed from what we saw.
