Antrel Rolle’s best game as a Giant was also the best defensive game in the conference.

Rolle was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for a game in which he had two interceptions, played a role in a third, and finished with six unassisted tackles.

It’s been a long time since a Giants safety was tabbed for this honor. The last one was Percy Ellsworth in Week 16 of 1998. The last Giants defensive back to win the award was Aaron Ross in Week 8 of 2008.

The Giants have already taken the POW Trifect this season with Rolle teaming with Hakeem Nicks (Offensive Player of the Week, Week 2) and Lawrence Tynes (Special Teams Player of the Week, Week 3).

Rolle, though, has won three previous POW awards, all with the Cardinals.
