It was treated almost comically at the time. Oh look! Antrel Rolle banged his knee on the camera just beyond the end zone in the game against the Panthers! How crazy is that?

The Giants didn’t expect him to miss any time at all with what they called a laceration and a contusion – for those who did not attend medical school, a scrape and a bruise. But nearly three weeks after the incident, Rolle is still dealing with the injury.

“I’m still dealing with this knee injury,” Rolle said when asked about the loss of players in the secondary during his weekly paid appearance on WFAN. “If it’s not one thing it’s another.”

While the Giants were able to brace for the four-game suspension of Will Hill and expected Kenny Phillips to be sidelined for a month or so, no one foresaw Rolle’s knee injury lingering this long. Certainly not Rolle.

“I’m definitely better than I was three weeks ago,” Rolle said. “It’s a battle, it’s a constant battle each and every day … With this knee injury, it’s going to take some time, it’s going to take some time. I never thought it would be this crucial. It’s a lingering process, not anything too serious, but it’s something that lingers around and sticks with you a little bit. But I’ll be fine and I will be out there for the game come Sunday.”
