Asante Samuel used to be the number one cornerback for the Eagles. Now he’s number three behind Nnamdi Asomugha and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Which may be why he’s considering a change of address.

Asked on today’s conference call if, given the way Steve Smith jumped from the Giants to the Eagles, he could ever see himself crossing the same bridge and playing for the Giants, Samuel showed a hint of his unhappiness in Philly.

“The way things are going this year,” he said, “I guess I probably could.”

Then again, as Springsteen said, it's hard to be Asante in the city.
