Can JPP play both ends at once? Tuck and Osi in the air for Skins

It’s a good thing Jason Pierre-Paul cannot be stopped, because the Giants may be playing Sunday without two of their “starting” defensive ends. Maybe JPP can play both ends at once?

Osi Umenyiora is still nursing an ankle injury, and while Tom Coughlin said he is hopeful that he’ll be able to contribute this week against the Redskins, he noted too that there are days when the medical reports are “not quite as positive as you thought it would be.” Umenyiora has missed two games with a sprained ankle and a source says it is likely he’ll miss a third on Sunday.

The other defensive end is Justin Tuck, who was sidelined for portions of the most recent game in Dallas with a toe injury.

“I played on one leg,” Tuck said in the weekly interview on WFAN. “It’s trying to fight through it. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to go 100 percent.”

Tuck said he has “no clue” if he’ll be able to play against the Redskins and is awaiting the results of an MRI on his toe. The Cowboys game was the second time this year that Tuck started a game and finished without being credited with a tackle.

“Just tried to fight through it and give us a body out there,” Tuck said. “For the most part I felt I was out there just to be the fourth man on the line.”
