Chris Snee said he is catching “a lot of heat” from teammates who are teasing him that being on PUP is just a savvy veteran move to sidestep a few training camp practices. “I’m just following the doctor’s orders,” he said.

Coming off hip surgery, Snee knew he probably wouldn’t be ready for the start of camp. But he’s confident he’ll be back on the field soon.

“I wouldn’t think it would be too long, but I don’t know,” Snee said. “There are still some things that I need to work out and there’s no reason to rush things now. But I’m doing everything I need to do to get in shape.”

That included running on the side on Friday while the rest of the team was taking the conditioning test.

“I ran harder than those guys did,” Snee said.

Entering his 10th year in the league, Snee can give the heat as well as take it.
