Big game tonight on NBC, so the Peacocks sent Bob Costas out this week to talk with Tom Coughlin. The interview will air tonight before the broadcast of the game, but here are a few snippets from the exclusive interview airing tonight on ‘Football Night in America.”

Most of the information has been covered already, from the penalties last week – “It was an exasperating loss to say the least,” he said – to the comments of Antrel Rolle after the Week 2 loss to the Colts – “The unfortunate thing is that it sounds like an excuse and Antrel does know that. Whenever you make an excuse, it’s a sign of weakness. If you have something that’s worthwhile to discuss, then let’s do it internally.”

But Costas also asked Coughlin about being the oldest head coach in the NFL and noted that Coughlin seems to come to work excited each day.

“I am excited,” Coughlin said. “I am excited about this football team… The whole world is down on the New York Giants. Fine. As long as that locker room is all together, our coaching staff is all together, we have an opportunity to go out and prove it again next Sunday. That’s all that matters to me is to know that if we come together as a team and we put forth a great effort as a team, we’ll be okay. We’ll be fine.”
