Tight end Darcy Johnson was placed in injured reserve this morning and replaced on the roster by Cowboys practice squad TE Scott Chandler. Johnson was told of the decision this morning when he arrived at the complex and appeared to be shaken when discussing the decision in the locker room.

"They might have to go in and look at it, they don't know yet," Johnson said of his right shoulder injury. "It's going to take a little time."

Johnson had not been on the injury report but said he injured the shoulder against the Cheifs and then re-injured it a few weeks ago against the Broncos. You might remember the play when he caught a pass on the right side and fumbled it. He came back in that game and has played since, but on Monday night he was inactive.

"I've been bothered by it a little bit, but we didn't think it was to th epoint where it needed to be on the injury report," Johnson said. "Obviously we found out it was worse than what it was."

Johnson said he had an MRI "a couple of weeks ago." And he couldn't say what kind of shoulder it is. "Probably a clavicle or an AC joint," he said. "I don't know too many details about it. I'm not a doctor."

Johnson did say that he is disappointed not to be playing with his teammates down this important stretch of games.

"That's the way it is," Johnson said. "It's a team sport and I have to (hope) the guys make it through without me."
