Tackle David Diehl, who is recovering from hip and hamstring injuries, took part in individual drills Friday in the portion of practice that was open to the media, but his availability for Washington on Sunday remains uncertain, pending an update from coach Tom Coughlin after practice. Starting wide receivers Steve Smith (pectoral) and Hakeem Nicks (lower leg) both were in pads, but both remained on the sidelines and likely are out.
Riding the bike on the side were center Shaun O'Hara (foot) and kick returner Will Blackmon (chest). Tackle Shawn Andrews (back) was not on the field.
From the looks of things, recently acquired wide receiver Devin Thomas will have a chance to play against his old team. It appears he will have a special teams role.
