Not all of the Dolphins have made the swim north to New York.
The team downgraded two of its starters to out for Sunday’s game: CB Vontae Davis (hamstring) and RB Daniel Thomas (hamstring). They also reclassified WR Clyde Gates (groin) as questionable.
Thomas, a rookie, is the team's leading rusher with 302 yards on 75 carries. His absence means Reggie Bush will likely become the primary ballcarrier for the Dolphins in whatever running game they try to mount against the Giants. Of course, Bush has a neck injury and is only listed as probable himself. I haven't seen any quotes, but I would imagine that Bush would say that this news "stinks."
The Giants did not officially downgrade anyone from their injury report, but the deadline to activate Ramses Barden off PUP for this week’s game passed this afternoon. Barden, who was taking about half the scout team reps this week (playing the role of Brandon Marshall, Tom Coughlin noted), has another two weeks before the Giants must make a decision to activate him to the 53-man roster or put him on season-ending IR.
