Well, this certainly has been a strange weekend for the NFL.

We had roofs collapsing, trainers tripping, Cowboys requesting autographs, and now, for the first time in about two decades, Brett Favre will not start a game.

Huh.

Yes, Senor Streak will be sitting out tonight, ending his run of consecutive games started at 297. He's just one of several key inactives for the Vikings, a list that also includes WR Percy Harvin and G Steve Hutchinson.

As for Favre, I didn't even see him on the field during warmups, so when he was telling people duiring the weekend that he didn't think he'd be playing and we all thought he was just building up the drama, well, I guess he wasn't.

Well, he probably was a little.

As for the Giants, they have Eli Manning making his 100th straight start. They also get a few of their missing pieces back from recent weeks. Both Steve Smith and David Diehl have missed the last four games, and they will be playing and starting tonight. Hakeem Nicks was supposed to miss three weeks, but he only missed two and is playing tonight. I would assume he's starting, but that hasn't veen officially announced.

The Giants' inactives: Dariuis Reynaud, Michael Coe, Phillip Dillard, Shaun O'Hara, Shawn Andrews, Jamon Meredith, Duke Calhoun and Linval Joseph. Andrews was the only one who didn't make the trip

Lucky him.
