Turns out that the omission of Shawn Andrews from the pre-practice injury report was, in fact, a clerical oversight. The Giants provided an updated version that has Andrews on it with a back injury. And we just got back from practice and Andrews was not there.
But guess who was?
Just about everyone else. Yes, the cavalry may be arriving!
Steve Smith was running routes and catching passes. David Diehl was doing drills with the offensive line. Even Shaun O'Hara, who spent some early time on the exercise bike, eventually made his way over to the other offensive linemen and did a few drills coming off the ball.
Heck, Osi Umenyiora was practicing today. On a Wednesday! He hasn't done that since the very beginning of the season.
Aaron Ross was also practicing, even though nobody seems to know exactly what is wrong with him. Tom Coughlin said today that they are now thinking that his discomfort stems from a back strain after tests of his internal organs came back negative. Ross was fielding punts and running at practice today, so he seems to be on the mend from whatever it is that was bothering him.
The only guys who weren't practicing by my count were Will Blackmon, still sidelined by a chest injury, and Andrews and Hakeem Nicks.
