Six losses in their last nine after a 5-0 start, and yet the Giants (8-6) still have a potential path to the playoffs — with a little help.
If the G-Men can hold on against Panthers (6-8) at 1 this afternoon at the Meadowlands, and then again next week at Minnesota (who's undefeated at home), they'd need a Dallas or Green Bay loss to slide into the playoffs.
First things first, though. Four Giants starters are out today, as Tom Rock reported a little while ago: Corey Webster, Aaron Ross, Kareem McKenzie and Rich Seubert. Ramses Barden, D.J. Ware, Scott Chandler and Sinorice Moss are also out.
But it's the Giants' last game ever at their eponymous stadium. Couple that with today's postseason implications, and you can't expect a few sidelined starters to be a valid excuse for a potential loss.
