There will be plenty of upcoming games that will be easy for the Giants to get up for. They play the Patriots, Saints, Packers plus four more divisional games in the coming months. So a game like the one Sunday against the winless Dolphins can be easy to overlook.
“Those are the teams that you have to be most prepared for,” defensive tackle Rocky Bernard said of getting ready to take on the Dolphins. “A team like that is hungry. Each week they’re trying to get that win. You actually have to over-prepare for this team. You have to do more than you would normally just because a team like that, each week is harder and harder for them to have to deal with a loss.”
It’s no secret that Tony Sparano’s job security is in doubt, but Bernard said he’s expecting a fight from the Dolphins players … not because they will want to win to save their coach, but they’ll be trying to save themselves.
“Anytime you’re losing, you know changes are going to come so you have to go out there and play the best that you can,” Bernard said. “You know at the end of the season, if you’re not playing well or if they feel like you’re the reason you’re not winning, it could be you.”
