The Raiders won on Thursday night, holding off the Chiefs for the first Oakland victory of the season. It was also the Raiders' first win since last November, ending what had become the NFL's longest active streak without having tasted success.
So who holds that dishonor now?
Do you really have to ask?
Actually, the Giants are one of two teams currently on a five-game losing streak, the longest active one in the NFL right now. The Panthers have lost five in a row, too. Both teams last won on October 5. The difference is that while the Giants are 0-5 since then, the Panthers are 0-5-1. They had a tie on October 12 against the Bengals. So technically the Panthers have gone six games without a victory, which is longer than the Giants. The Panthers finally get their bye this weekend.
It does put the Giants in danger of eclipsing the Panthers in the losing-streak column this Sunday, though. If they fall to the Cowboys, it will be their sixth straight loss. And it will stand alone as the longest active losing streak in the NFL.
When was the last time the Giants lost six straight?
Do you really have to ask that too?
