Just wanted to follow up with a quick nugget from earlier today when reporters had a chance to interview Roger Goodell at an NFL Play 60 event in New York City (which also included a bunch of future players who will not e allowed to use NFL weight rooms).

On Tuesday, Chris Canty became the only NFL player to work out in his team’s facility. The Giants were intent on opening the facility to all of their players, but on Tuesday evening they had a change of direction. Clearly the NFL was not pleased with the Giants being so nice to those awful players.

So Goodell was asked whether he reached out to the Giants about their initial policy and perhaps suggested that they tweak it.

“We’ve been in touch with all clubs in the last 48 hours,” he said. “Again, just trying to inform them of what the rules are so that we can be clear with the rules. You want an orderly process here. We have to react to when judgments are made and then we are obviously going to comply with those judgments. But we also want to make sure it’s done in an orderly fashion.”

Goodell said he personally did not talk to the Giants.

“Someone on the staff may have,” he said.
