The Giants continue to show interest in free agents they have seen up close in the NFC East.

A day after signing tight end Martellus Bennett from the Cowboys, the Giants had a visit today from another Dallas free agent, Queens native Kevin Ogletree. The also signed Chris Horton, a former Redskins safety, to add depth to their secondary and special teams.

Horton, 27, was a seventh-round pick of the Redskins in 2008 and started 15 games in his career. He had three interceptions in his first four games as a rookie and seemed to be a late-round steal for the Skins, but ultimately lost his starting job in 2009. He missed most of the 2010 season with an ankle injury and was cut late in the 2011 preseason. He did not play football last season.

It's unclear what the signing will mean for free agent safeties Deon Grant and Derrick Martin, both of whom are free agents. Moreso Grant as there are reports the Giants were alreeady passing on Martin.

After meetings with the team, Ogletree left the Giants without a contract. A team source said a deal is not expected.
