Here we go!

Yesterday was technically the start of training camp, but today is actually when we get into the real flow of things. A walk-through this morning followed by player interviews and then the first practice of the year on the field at 6 p.m.

You're not at Hoboken High School anymore, kids!

Yes, it's open to the public. Yes, it's free. Yes, you should get there early if you want a seat.

No, don't expect to get Osi Umenyiora's autograph. Not unless he's decided to sit in the stands with the fans, anyway. Osi continues his holdout and is not expected to be on the field with the team today. That's another $30,000 fine if he isn't, bringing the Osi Cash Register Total to $60,000.

It will be interesting to watch practice because quite a few other players won't be on the field, but not as holdouts. More like heldbacks. With no Brandon Jacobs or Ahmad Bradshaw (still unsigned), no Bear Pascoe, no Kevin Boss (unsigned), the tight ends and backfield will be pretty thin. Expect D.J. Ware to be the starting tailback, UDFA Henry Hynoski at fullback, and Jake Ballard at starting tight end.

Haven't heard anything new on Prince Amukamara since last night, but there's a chance he could get a deal done by the time the team takes the field this evening. And Marvin Austin gets to participate in a football practice for the first time in about 12 years (or maybe it will just feel like that for him).
