The Giants already knew who they would be playing in 2013. Now they know who’ll be coaching those teams.
With all eight coaching vacancies filled, the Giants will face four new head coaches next season, although one of them will be quite familiar. Three of the four are first-time NFL headmasters. The new coaches:
Chip Kelly of the Eagles (twice)
Marc Trestman of the Bears
Mike McCoy of the Chargers
and Andy Reid of the Chiefs.
They’ll also face a couple of teams that are changing coordinators due to coaching searches, like the Seahawks who lost defensive coordinator Gus Bradley to the Jaguars, and the Broncos who lost offensive coordinator Mike McCoy to the Chargers. It has nothing to do with a head coaching job, but the Cowboys are also changing their defensive coordinator, dumping Rob Ryan for Monte Kiffin.
And of course, in Dallas, there’s always a chance that Jason Garrett could be gone on a Jerry Jones whim.
