Hakeem Nicks is active, but that's a matter of degrees

The questionable Hakeem Nicks is no longer a question. It’s an answer. Yes, he will play tonight against the Cowboys. How active? He doesn't seem to be pushing it during early warmups here in Dallas. And hamstrings can be stubborn. Remember the game before Plaxico Burress' career ended, he thought he could play against the Cardinals, lasted one deep route, and had to come out of the game.

Something to keep an eye on with Nicks, who was confident all week that he would play.

The Giants just released their list of inactives. Three of them we knew already: Madison Hedgecock, Mathias Kiwanuka and Will Beatty did not make the trip and they are watching tonight from home.

The others: D.J. Johnson, Phillip Dillard, Jamon Meredith, Mitch Petrus and Linval Joseph.

Look for Aaron Ross and Bruce Johnson to see a lot of time in the secondary against the Cowboys’ receivers.

A few other notes: The roof and the side doors to Cowboys Stadium are open today. It's warm but windy. Right now I'm looking at the goalposts and watching the orange ribbons fluttering.

Keith Bulluck will dress and play for the first time since Week 3. He's missed the last three games with a turf toe injury. How much he plays will depend largely on what kind of personnel groupings the Cowboys go with.

And finally, today is the fifth anniversary of the death of Wellington Mara.
