Dwayne Hendricks will get the money, but not the uniform.
The practice squad defensive tackle who was called up to the 53-man roster yesterday to replace Jimmy Kennedy (suspended) has been listed as inactive for today’s game against the Bills. So he gets a game check of $22,058.82 (or 1/17th of the rookie minimum salary of $375,000) but that’s about it. He’ll also likely be waived and replaced by the time the Giants play their next game in two weeks. Maybe Ramses Barden will take his spot coming off PUP, or maybe there will be another need.
Anyway, Dwayne Hendricks.
The only other inactive who we did not know about is James Brewer. That means Mitch Petrus dresses for the first time this season and will be an extra interior lineman. The other inactives for the Giants were all ruled out on Friday: Prince Amukamara (foot), Brandon Jacobs (knee), Henry Hynoski (neck), Chris Snee (concussion) and Justin Tuck (groin/neck).
Kevin Boothe starts at guard for Snee. Jason Pierre-Paul starts at end for Tuck.
As for the Bills, they’re down a few starters: WR Donald Jones, LB Shawne Merriman, T Demetrius Bell, and perhaps most importantly NT Kyle Williams.
