Here comes McBride!

Yes, Trumaine McBride is one of the Giants’ starting cornerbacks today, playing in place of Corey Webster, who was ruled out after being listed as doubtful for the game. It’s not much of a surprise, but it is jarring to actually write the words.

Trumaine. McBride. Starting.

Anyway, the Giants’ inactive list is less newsworthy than the active list, which includes Will Hill fresh off his four-game suspension, Charles James just promoted from the practice squad, Jon Beason whom the Giants acquired in a trade on Friday and who has not even had an actual practice with the team, and Cullen Jenkins who fought through knee and Achilles injuries and a gametime decision to play.

Just for formality’s sake, here are the Giants inactives: Ryan Nassib, Louis Murphy Jr., Corey Webster, Jayron Hosley, David Baas, Adrien Robinson and Linval Joseph. That doesn’t include the Giants who were put on IT late this week: Chris Snee and Aaron Ross.

As for changes in the starting lineup, besides McBride, the Giants will have former Eagles Mike Patterson starting at DT in place of Joseph (and alongside fellow former Eagle Cullen Jenkins), Jim Cordle at center, and, as he announced on Thursday, David Diehl at right guard.
