WEEK 1: JETS vs. BALTIMORE RAVENS (Sept. 13, 7 p.m., ESPN)

The Jets refused to take a back seat to the Giants on the opening weekend of the New Meadowlands Stadium, so they got themselves booked on Monday Night Football -- one day after the Giants officially open the stadium against Carolina. Yes, there will be actual fans in the seats when the Jets christen their new, greened-up home against the Ravens, who went 9-7 and made the playoffs last year. I wanted to point out this story for you, especially if you plan on attending Monday night's game or next Saturday's technical "preseason home opener" against the Steelers or any of the Giants or Jets games at New Meadowlands Stadium this year.

It's a post from Neil Best about what you can expect to be eating while you watch football.

Best also wrote this essay about the opening of the stadium in general.

You can also skip through this little slide show someone at Newsday put together that gives you a glimpse of the Giants' 2010 opponents (or at least a glimpse of their city, nickname, identity or some other characteristic).
