When we asked Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio about former Giants practice squadder Nate Collins earlier this week, I got the distinct impression that Jack didn’t know jack about him. But there is one other former Giants player who Del Rio will probably have to start studying up on: Guy Whimper.
In a surprise out of northern Florida today (which is actually more like the southern South if you’re even been there or listened to a Lynyrd Skynyrd album), starting left tackle Eugene Monroe failed his baseline concussion test and will likely not be allowed to play against the Giants. So who steps in for him? Perhaps former Giant Guy Whimper.
Whimper was a fourth round pick of the Giants in 2006 but was cut just before the start of the regular season. He was picked up by the Jaguars on Nov. 2, shortly after they placed starting right tackle Eben Britton on injured reserve.
