Jeff Hostetler had some interesting things to say to Jimmy Roberts about his former coach with the Giants, Bill Parcells, on NBC Sports Talk Thursday night.
Hostetler: “I wasn’t a Bill guy, you know. Bill had his favorite guys and I wasn’t really one of those. We didn’t see eye to eye on things.”
Roberts: “Why do you think you weren’t a Bill guy?”
Hostetler: “Oh, I don’t know, I mean, I don’t know. You know, I don’t have an answer for that. I really don’t.”
Roberts: “Did it bother you at the time?”
Hostetler: ‘Yeah, I think it bothered a lot of guys because, you know, you want the approval of your head coach. You want to know that he’s got your back, that he actually believes in you, and…”
Roberts: “And you doubted that?”
Hostetler: “I doubted that, yeah…I can remember coming home, sitting at the dinner table with my wife, and I just had it. And I remember saying, ‘Babe, at the end of the season, we’re going home and I’m going to find something else to do.’”
