Keenan Robinson, the middle linebacker who agreed to a one-year deal with the Giants last week, signed his contract after a team physical on Monday. After four injury-riddled seasons in Washington, Thompson said he is ready to play.

“I had some injuries last season, but I’ll be full-go in the offseason,” he told “I’ll be able to help out right away.”

The Giants will need him to. He will likely replace recently retired Jon Beason as the defensive signal-caller.

“I think this is the best fit for me,” Robinson said. “They’re a team that needed a middle linebacker. I think I can fill that role for the team. I’m very excited for the opportunity.”

When healthy, Robinson was productive for Washington. In four seasons he played in only 36 games with 21 starts but was credited with 177 tackles (110 solo), 1.5 sacks, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
