Manningham inactive vs. Saints

It’s a bad night for guys who promised they would play.

Ahmad Bradshaw said last week that he would definitely be ready for tonight’s game against the Saints. He was wrong and remained home. Mario Manningham, who hadn’t practiced all week but said he planned on playing, did make the trip and was a gametime decision. Now he’s been listed as out as well.

Manningham joins a list of Giants inactives that included four names we already knew – Bradshaw, Michael Boley, Derrick Martin and Will Beatty – as well as James Brewer and Jimmy Kennedy.

That means Justin Trattou and Will Blackmon, both added to the roster this week to replace players put on IR, will play. So will Henry Hynoski, who had been inactive for the last month or so.

As for the Saints, their big name on the inactive list is middle linebacker Jonathan Vilma. He was battling a knee issue and had been limited in practices this week, but even coming off a bye he was unable to progress to the point of playing.

The other Saints inactives are Chris Ivory, Johnny Patrick, William Robinson, Michael Higgins, Adrian Arrington and Turk McBride.
