While it’s technically not a “road,” game, at least one aspect of the Giants’ experience this week will be different from when they normally play at MetLife Stadium.
The team will not spend tonight in their usual pre-game hotel. Why? Because the home team got dibs.
“We have to,” Tom Coughlin said of making the switch in this week’s Coughlin Corner on giants.com. “We share that hotel.”
That’s right, the Jets will be staying where the Giants normally do before games in New Jersey. Considering they are 3-4 at home this year, if the Giants win perhaps the change will be permanent.
Of course, the Giants have been treating this like a road game all week.
“We’re here, we’re home, we’re playing in the same stadium,” Coughlin said. “(But) it’s the Jets’ home game. It will be treated (as such) ... We documented this in our literature for the players, it’s a road game. We’re on the road. I’ve had crowd noise all through practice. We’ve done all of those things.”
