Osi Umenyiora has played well in the last two games, prompting some people to remark that he looks like the old Osi (that’s the previous version of Osi, not the old graybeard Osi).
“I never left, man,” Umenyiora said today. “I never did. I was just hurt. People forget things. I feel like I’ve been when I wasn’t hurt.”
One of those games he was hurt for was the Dec. 4 Packers game. His absence is one of the things most players have pointed to this week as a difference-maker for Sunday’s game. Umenyiora shied away from him making any kind of huge impact.
“I guess that would be a logical explanation, but I don’t think that’s the case at all,” he said. “I can’t attribute that success to me. I think for some reason everything is coming together at the right time now.”
Umenyiora did say that his medical team is coming together too.
“I feel good,” he said. “A lot of the things I’ve been going through are feeling pretty good. I went to see my own doctor and he definitely took care of me along with Ronnie Barnes and Dr. (Russ) Warren. All those guys. Everybody came together and they’ve done a good job so I’m feeling pretty good.”
