He was the last of the first-round picks to do so, but tonight Prince Amukamara agreed to terms with the Giants. He is expected to sign his contract tomorrow and be on the field with the team for the evening’s practice.
The Giants were beginning to grow weary waiting for the deal, especially after general manager Jerry Reese had declared it “close” last week. Tom Coughlin even said he thought Amukamara would be in by Wednesday.
Now, finally, the Giants can get their hands on the player they couldn’t believe was available to them in the draft and start crafting him into an NFL cornerback.
