Did Jerry Reese guarantee that the Giants will make the playoffs this year?

He didn't use the G-word, but he sure sounded confident proclaiming that the team would overcome the issues that have seemingly befuddled the team this offseason (and we're talking about everything from Osi to Prince to Boss to Smith to Cofield).

“We made responsible offers to everybody,” Reese said of the team's free agents. “Sometimes it doesn’t work out the way you want it to work out but we’ll play the hand we’re dealt and we’ll win with it.”

Reese does seem convinced that the Giants will be back to the playoffs in 2011, a place they have not been in two years.

“We won 10 games last year,” he said. “It wasn’t like we were 6-10, we were 10-6. We expect to build off of that. If we made a couple of plays last year we would have been in the playoffs and who knows what would have happened. So we’ll make the plays this time and we’ll get into the playoffs and we’ll make a run.”
