If I was ever a relief pitcher, I always imagined that the song I would enter to would be “Long Live Rock” by The Who.
Maybe the same song can be used to trumpet Rocky Bernard’s Giants career. Once a highly-prized (and highly-paid) free agent acquisition, he never made much of an impact and was released from the team very early in training camp last week after he couldn’t agree on a pay cut.
Well, now it’s time for Rocky II because the Giants have re-signed him. They needed him after Robert Parker out of Richmond was waived/injured.
In two years Bernard played in 29 games for the Giants. He had 61 tackles (39 solo) and 3.0 sacks. In 2010, Bernard played in 14 games and contributed 26 tackles (18 solo) and 2.0 sacks (at Minnesota and vs. Philadelphia).
