It’s Jets-Giants week, so you know Rex is going to come out with a zinger.
No, I mean Rex Grossman!
The Redskins quarterback was on SiriusXM NFL Radio today and was asked if he and his team used Antrel Rolle’s comments about the Giants being able to beat the Skins 99 times out of 100 as motivation.
“Definitely,” Grossman said. “I mean, how can you take that comment any other way? I mean, 99 out of 100 times they are going to beat us? And we beat them two in a row this year? I’m not going to the casino with him anytime soon.”
As for Rolle, he was on WFAN today and spoke about his oddsmaking abilities.
“The Redskins were the better team than the Giants for the 2011 season,” Rolle said. “That’s not going to take away anything what I feel about the organization. But actions definitely speak louder than words. And they were a better team for 2011 and that’s what it is.”
He said he has no regrets about his remarks. “I don’t go back on anything I say,” he said.
But he’s clearly learned his lesson. Asked later in the interview how many times he thinks the Giants would beat the Jets if they played 100 times, he went coy.
“I really think I'm done answering that question,” he said with a laugh. “Washington made me put my foot in my mouth on that question, and I think I still have it in there.”
