Rob Ryan spoke with reporters in Dallas today and the Cowboys were nice enough to share the video of the interview on their website so that journalists in other cities could watch, listen and report on what the Dallas defensive coordinator had to say.
Naturally, a good chunk of the conversation had to do with Eli Manning. Ryan was very complimentary.
“He will stand in thee in the face of a damn hurricane,” Ryan said. “He’s tough.”
Ryan also apparently is familiar with the Great Eli Debate Topic of 2011 because he added this assessment: “He’s in that elite group for sure.”
Still, Ryan said his goal as a defensive coordinator is to confuse opponents and “make them play left-handed.” (Eli, by the way, has completed two of four career passes left-handed). Some of his players have said they need to get in Eli’s head, and Ryan agreed.
“We’re going to find out on Sunday night,” he said when asked how the Cowboys can do that, “because we’re going to do it.”
