On the day a third fight broke out at Giants training camp and a joint practice between Washington and the Texans ended up in a nasty brawl, Tom Coughlin said he has warned his players about not allowing the upcoming workouts with the Bengals to devolve into such violence.

"It's already been addressed," Coughlin said. "Marvin [Lewis] and I have already talked about that last spring. We want good, solid work, but we don't want any of that."

Saturday's Giants fight was between defensive end Robert Ayers Jr. and guard Michael Bamiro, the Stony Brook University product trying to make the team. It was the second fight of camp for Bamiro, who almost got into a third later in practice.

"He's totally innocent," Coughlin said with a sarcastic grin of Bamiro's role in the roughhousing. "It just happens to be him."

Eli throws first pick

If you had Trevin Wade in the pool to see who would come up with the first interception of Eli Manning in training camp, congratulations!

Manning threw his first pick of the summer in a goal-line series while aiming for Rueben Randle. Wade made the pick in the back of the end zone. Later, Manning threw his second interception to Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.

Giant steps

Chykie Brown left practice with a right knee injury. Brown had moved into a starting role to replace Prince Amukamara (groin). Jayron Hosley replaced Brown with the first team.
