Usually at this time of the year we are talking about Sinorice Moss trying to take advantage of the opportunities he gets and making plays that will get him on the roster. But this time there’s a wrinkle. No opportunities. Maybe not for the rest of the preseason.
Moss has an unidentified injury somewhere in his core – it’s described as a groin or an abdominal injury until tests can be done to determine exactly what is going on – and he’s already been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Ravens. He could also miss the preseason finale against the Patriots.
With a limited number of preseason snaps already – he had just one reception for 11 yards in the first two games – does Moss think that his lack of field time could jeopardize his chances of making the team?
“No, why would it jeopardize my chances for that?” he asked. “That’s not my opinion at all.”
Still, he wants to go back out and show the Giants that he can do more than what he’s shown so far.
“I feel like they know enough about me, but me personally I still want to be out there to show them more,” he said. “They’ve seen the things that I’m capable of doing in games. But it’s just about me having that competitive spirit and wanting to go out there and do more. More playmaking ability, more going out and making plays on a consistent basis. Not just making a play here or there. Yeah, OK, he made a play. That’s not good enough for me.”
We may soon find out if it’s good enough for the Giants.
