The Giants like to start 5-2 under Tom Coughlin

The Giants like starting 5-2, a lot. During the eight season under head coach Tom Coughlin, Big Blue has started the season 5-2 seven times.

The 2009 Giants started the season 5-0 before embarking on a four-game losing streak.

The 2011 Giants have built a 5-2 start beating mostly teams with losing records. Four of those five wins came against teams that now have a combined record of 5-23, according to today's column by Bob Glauber.

Here's a not so fancy table showing what many Giants fans already know: the Giants get off to a hot start, but the second half of the season is not always kind. The Giants next six opponents are: at Patriots (5-2), at 49ers (6-1), Eagles (3-4), at Saints (5-3), Packers (7-0), at Cowboys (3-4).
