Every year it seems one or two undrafted free agents winds up making the team. Sometimes they even become shoo-ins for the Pro Bowl the way Victor Cruz did last summer. And let's not forget that the two guys we just said goodbye to, Shaun O'Hara and Rich Seubert, were both undrafted out of college.
So here, then, is a list of the 10 undrafted free agents the Giants are bringing into training camp this weekend. They have a particular disadvantage of no rookie minicamp and no OTAs to get acclimated to the NFL, so it should be interesting to watch them sink or swim. Maybe a few will actually be able to tread water long enough to still be around in September.
The list, from the Giants: defensive ends Justin Trattou of Florida and Craig Marshall of South Florida; defensive tackles Martin Parker of Richmond and Ibrahim Abdulai of Arkansas-Pine Bluff; safeties Jerrard Tarrant of Georgia Tech and David Sims of Iowa State; linebacker Spencer Paysinger of Oregon (pictured) and Mark Herzlich of Boston College; tackle Jarriel King of South Carolina; and fullback Henry Hynoski of Pittsburgh.
Herzlich comes in with the most name recognition, but keep an eye on Hynoski, especially with the Giants parting ways with Madison Hedgecock and no clear-cut starter at fullback.
