Three out for the Giants, Reynaud more questionable than he had been, and a big Boss bash in Seattle

Just a few quick notes before I hop on my flight to Seattle:

Three Giants have been ruled out for the game, but there are no surprises. Shaun O’Hara, Will Beatty and Madison Hedgecock will not make the trip.

The one surprise is Darius Reynaud, who injured his hamstring in practice today. He’ll be listed as questions. I suppose technically he’s been questionable since the minute the Giants signed Will Blackmon, but it did appear as if Reynaud was to be given one last chance to keep his returning job. Now, who knows.

Blackmon, by the way, said he’s spent much more time preparing to play in the Giants’ defense than on their special teams units this week. That doesn’t mean he’s not ready for either role, however.

Gerris Wilkinson has been practicing fully and Tom Coughlin said he can play with the cast on his broken left hand. Still, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Giants decide to sit him and play rookie Phillip Dillard. Against Leon Washington on special teams, you need all the hands you can get. He’d be very slippery against a guy with only one arm able to grip him.

Adam Koets and Rich Seubert were spending some time after practice dunking footballs in a bucket of water and working on snapping a soggy pigskin. The weather forecast for Seattle on Sunday is rain, but the Giants decided to work indoors all week.

Kevin Boss will have 80-100 family members and friends at the game on Sunday, his first NFL game on the West Coast. He grew up about three and a half miles from Seattle in Oregon and played college basketball and football there, so the crew is very excited. His wife even rented a ballroom at one of the hotels to throw a party for all in attendance. The one guy who can’t make it to the shindig is Boss. He’ll be busy with team activities.
