Hello there. It's Best reporting from the Timex Performance Center media room, the new home away from home for Team Newsday.
We're plugging away, giving you the best Giants coverage in town and praying for a warm front that keeps the snow and ice away from area airports come Saturday.
The big news on the media end of the Giants beat this week is that retired fan favorite Tiki Barber will be joining SNY for a postgame show Sunday along with fellow former Giant Shaun O'Hara.
Channel 9 is the official home of the Giants' postgame shows, but SNY - customarily the Jets' postgame home - will get into the act for the big game in San Francisco.
Barber has not been a TV regular since leaving NBC at the end of the 2010 season, and his much-publicized attempt to return to the NFL as a player this season never panned out.
For now this is a one-time gig on SNY but it could well lead to more work on the channel.
Said Tiki in a news release:
"I am looking forward to providing my insights for SNY's 'Big Blue Live' postgame show. Hopefully it will be after a Giants win as they continue on the road to Indianapolis and the Super Bowl."
