There was some conversation in the media room this week as to when the injury surprise would come. Normally they’ve been falling on Fridays this season. Osi Umenyiora, Mathias Kiwanuka, Lawrence Tynes, all came up lame on a Friday. Nothing like givinig Giants fans a nice relaxing weekend. But since the Giants play on Monday night this week today is actually more like a Thursday.

So which would it be? Today, the actual Friday? Or tomorrow, the Giants’ version of Friday?

We got our answer. It’s today.

Justin Tuck and Hakeem Nicks, two important cogs for the Giants, were not practicing. No word yet on why, but both were riding the exercise bikes while the rest of the team was working. Tuck looked especially glum about his situation, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and slumping backwards on the bike so he was leaning against the side of the fieldhouse. Nicks eventually joined him.

As for some other injury news, Lawrence Tynes appeared to be fine and working (although we did not see the Giants do any kickoff drills) and Madison Hedgecock spent some time on the bikes with Tuck and Nicks before walking across the field to watch the running backs do their drills. Hedgecock (hamstring) was listed as limited yesterday, but it’s hard to say exactly how limited anyone really is. He might be limited again today.

Keith Bulluck, Brian Jackson and D.J. Ware were all working and seemed to be full. And Osi was working after his regular day off yesterday.
