Tollefson returns, but many still left behind

It appears the Giants have gotten one of their players back from yesterday’s lengthy injury report.

Dave Tollefson, who Tom Coughlin called “tough” and noted that he would “find a way to play,” was back on the field and practicing after missing Wednesday’s workout with a left knee injury he suffered on Sunday.

While some of the other eight Giants who missed practice yesterday were at least a little more active – Brandon Jacobs was doing some stretching and light drills, as was Michael Boley – none of them actually returned to practice. Three of them – David Baas, Mark Herzlich and Osi Umenyiora – were not even in the fieldhouse with the team or practice.

Kenny Phillips, who insisted that he still had a chance to play on Sunday with a sprained MCL, was doing some straight-ahead running outside. Ahmad Bradshaw was doing some work on the stationary bike. And Spencer Paysinger was doing some exercises on the side.

The two guys who were limited on Wednesday, Mario Manningham and Prince Amukamara, both appeared to be participating in today’s practice. We’ll see later whether or not they were limited again.
