Justin Tuck is practicing today. But hold off on the Hallelujah choruses.

Tuck will be limited, Tom Coughlin said, and he made it clear that the team will be in shells. So that probably means only individual drills for the defensive end with the neck injury that has been bothering him for over two weeks now. Tuck was optimistic about playing against the Rams on Monday when he spoke at a RUSH for Literacy event yesterday, but the real test for him this week will be when the team has a full-contact, full-pads workout. That will probably be tomorrow, although it could be Thursday with the longer week.

As for other injured players, Hakeem Nicks (knee) was not practicing but did do some light jogging on the side. The extra day of prep for the Monday nighter will help him a lot. Travis Beckum was not practicing, and it sounds like that’s what Coughlin has come to expect. “Beckum is Beckum,” he said in one of the most subtly damning quotes I’ve ever heard from him. Coughlin later said he is not getting frustrated with Beckum, but I’d love to have a blood pressure cuff on Coughlin each time Beckum’s name is brought up.

Want some good injury news? Prince Amukamara was on the field, on an exercise bike, and even doing some jogging. He had the pins removed from his foot last week and has been taken out of the protective boot. He’s still a few weeks away most likely, but he’s making progress.
