Justin Tuck did not practice today, but Tom Coughlin did not seem very concerned about him missing any games with his toe injury.
“I can’t give you all the medical terms, but it’s not going to be anything,” Coughlin said. “It’s discomfort, it’s sore, it’s an issue. But hopefully it’s going to be able to get under control.”
Kenny Phillips (knee) returned to practice after missing just one week with a sprained MCL. He and Spencer Paysinger were the only players on the injury report to be working today.
David Baas, who has missed the last two games with a neck/headaches issue, was doing some light running outside while the team practiced in the fieldhouse. The Giants have gotten by without him fairly well with Kevin Boothe at center and Mitch Petrus at left guard. Coughlin said he’s not ready to make any decisions about who plays and who stays just yet.
“Let’s get them all back,” Coughlin said of his offensive linemen. “He hasn’t practiced in a couple of weeks. We need to get him back on the practice field and back in the groove. Then we’ll make those kinds of calls.”
