Giants offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo said wide receiver Corey Washington was impressive late in the Colts game but didn't promise more playing time for the exciting rookie.
"We will evaluate that as we get closer to the game," McAdoo said. "We just had one day of practice and the last game as well as that week's practice to determine playing time. He certainly did show up and make some nice plays."
Washington, who caught his first NFL pass and first NFL touchdown after a breakout preseason, said he felt the four-catch performance helped him get his "swag" back after very little regular-season activity.
"It helped my confidence a lot," he said. "I wasn't really getting the ball. To have that first catch, now I feel like I have my confidence back, my swag back."
He has the ball, too. In his apartment. He kept the memento from his first catch and first touchdown (they were on the same drive so it was the same football). Maybe there will be more soon.
Said Washington: "I'm hoping."
