Mike Pettine's name wasn't at the top of the list of potential head coaching candidates when the 2014 hiring cycle began. In fact, he may not have been on the list at all.

Former Jets and Ravens safety Jim Leonhard, who was a big part of Rex Ryan's defense in both places, is now back in the AFC East after signing with the Bills.
Leonhard, who suffered season-ending leg injurie with the Jets in 2010 and 2011, will now re-join former Jets defensive coordinator Mike Pettine, who holds the same position in Buffalo.
