But at least one woman is sticking by Big Ben's side.
LPGA Golfer Natalie Gulbis (pictured, left), in an interview on Wednesday, called Roethlisberger "a great guy." She spoke to reporters at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania, where the U.S. Women's Open will be played July 8-11.
Gulbis dated Roethlisberger a few years ago, but while the relationship did not last, the two have remained friends. In fact, they played golf together at Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pa., on Tuesday.
Gulbis said she'll continue to cheer on Roethlisberger and the Steelers despite his six-game suspension under the NFL's personal conduct policy.
Gulbis is the 92nd ranked women's golfer in the world and has just three professional wins since turning pro in 2001. But she has garnered a modicum of fame due to her spreads in numerous magazines, her short-lived reality T.V. show on The Golf Channel, and yes, even her relationship with Roethisberger.
Her current feelings raise a couple questions. First, could it be Roethlisberger is cordial around prominent women and a jerk to those he feels are "beneath" him? Possibly. And second, have some of these accusations been blown out of proportion? We shall see.
