In today's column for the newspaper, I wrote about how it might have been a good thing for Rex Ryan to get his feelings off his chest about the Darrelle Revis by suggesting a meeting of the minds that included Revis, his agents, and the entire Jets organization, including the players.
I also mentioned that getting all this stuff out in the open should be followed by radio silence, and that now was the time for all parties to button up and get down to the business of negotiating a new contract behind closed doors. Apparently, that's what will happen.
The Jets and Revis' agents, Neil Schwartz and Jonathan Feinsod, today issued a joint release that indicated there would be no more negotiating through the media.
"Both parties have had conversations to clear the air and will continue to negotiate with the hopes of reaching an agreement. From this point forward, all discussions regarding these negotiations will remain confidential."
