Jerricho Cotchery calls Holmes deal a steal

Jets receiver Jerricho Cotchery was asked his first impression of the Santonio Holmes trade.

"My first thoughts were, I was trying to figure out, what else. Is that it? I was thinking like, 'Wow, a guy coming off a great season, with the off-field incidents, but a fifth-round pick is unheard of," Cotchery said during this morning's workout session at the Jets' training complex. "I was happy we were able to get someone and not send out a first-round pick or anything else."

Cotchery, who had 57 receptions for 821 yards and four touchdowns last season, believes Holmes' presence on the field will help his own game.

"It will be nice having the freedom to move around," he said. "All of us will be able to do that. We have a long list of weapons. A lot of opposing cooredinators are scratching their heads thinking about drafting alot of people that can cover us."
