The Jets have indicated that they expect a coin toss will determine whether they or the Giants play the opening game at the new stadium that the two teams will share at the Meadowlands.
The Giants? Well, they're not saying, but advise inquiring minds to consult with the NFL office before making anything official.
And what does the league office say? That "the commissioner determines the schedule," according to league spokesman Greg Aiello. "We have no announcements to make about the schedule at this point."
There could be more information forthcoming about the situation later today or sometime early this week.
Either way, both teams would like to be the first to play a game at the new stadium, so figuring out which team gets the go-ahead could prove tricky for the league.
